Hi guys! Huge fan here. Not an art request, but I was wondering if any of you had noticed that Renard wiped his mouth both times he kissed Juliette. Why do you think that is?

Hello!

Our interpretation is that it’s because the attraction between Renard and Juliette isn’t real. Because it’s magically induced, even though he’s compelled to kiss her, even feels like it’s something he ‘wants’, it’s not real. His rational mind know this, is probably warring with the obsessed part, hence the mouth wiping.

Additionally, Renard is a bit of a control freak if you ask us, so being magically compelled to do/feel something probably seriously rankles him. (As it would anyone! *shudders*)
